Replying to @BarackObama
May God also grant all of us the wisdom to ask what concrete steps we can take to reduce the violence and weaponry in our midst.
Dear Mr. President,
God granted us the wisdom to control the licensing of motor vehicles, alcohol, and guns. I know that He is working on the souls of men to do what is right. Someday, we will have state regulated gun bureaus that are somewhat like our bureaus for motor vehicles and alcohol. At some time, gun manufacturers and gun owners must move into the future to fully accept responsibility for their guns. They must move from focusing only on the value of guns for profit and the security they feel in owning them, to valuing the sanctity of life and the life of each and every individual who has a right to live.
We know that the answers to gun control have always been right before us, but, the selfishness of others has prevented them from being implemented. Certainly, some of the ideas below have been proposed by many individuals, but, ignored because people are unwilling to yield to Truth and Wisdom. I pray that these proposed solutions will someday become a reality to save the lives of many, or, even one life, for one life can change the world.
These
are my thoughts for today. Sorry, there's so much. I think a lot. I'm a mother and
grandmother very concerned about this issue. With all hope.Respectfully,
mishael
One day...
- Gun manufacturers will be monitored more closely and required to adhere to federal gun sales regulations or face heavy penalties. They must justify the types of guns they are manufacturing to sell to certain areas and groups of people. They cannot sell directly to individuals. Guns sold to individuals must go through a state gun bureau. Guns must be created with encased serial numbers that cannot be removed without destroying the gun.
- Gun bureaus, databases, licenses, inspections, insurance, and gun modifications will create jobs and generate state and government revenue.
- Taxes will be raised on gun purchases. This alone could probably pay off a significant amount of our government's deficit, considering the amount of guns that Americans own.
- Individuals in high crime areas, or who have lost or had problems with guns, may be subject to higher insurance premiums, as insurance company policies often permit.
- The age for gun ownership and operation will be raised.
- There will be longer waiting periods to purchase guns and clear background checks
- The amount of guns purchased by individuals will be better monitored and limited through state regulated bureaus.
- Gun owners will be required to have secure and proper storage for their guns under penalty of the law.
- Guns will be required to be bought at a bureau where the gun owner must first obtain a temporary license. The licensing process will include: valid identification, which includes a current, permanent residence; proof of citizenship; fingerprinting; passing a criminal and psychological background check; and a test which covers gun safety and state and federal gun laws.
- Permanent gun licenses will be issued after the applicant has completed required courses for operation and ownership of a gun. Temporary licenses must be renewed every 30 days. Permanent licenses must be renewed every 2 years.
- Permanent gun licenses will have to be renewed upon inspection of currently registered guns at secure facilities by qualified gun inspectors. Databases will be connected between federal, state, and local authorities for background checks and to track guns. Gun owners will be required to carry valid, unexpired licenses and insurance on each gun, according to its value, make and risks of liability and theft. Licenses will not be renewed without proof of proper and adequate insurance. Unchecked guns will be fined and the gun owner must comply or risk forfeit of ownership, prosecution, or both.
- The gun owner will be prosecuted if they willingly gave their gun to an unlicensed individual, or allowed them to operate the gun.
- Owners whose licenses have expired must first obtain a temporary license and retake a gun course and exam.
- Permanent Licenses to carry a gun will only be issued to those working in professional fields that require them to do so.
- Temporary Licenses to carry will be issued to sportsmen during hunting season and to persons requesting them for special events.
- Automatic firing weapons will be banned and only available to the military and special police forces.
- Owners must continue to immediately report lost or stolen guns or risk permanently losing their license to own and operate a gun.
- Repeatedly breaking gun laws gives the state the right to suspend or revoke the licenses of any gun owner. A suspended license will be reinstated after all fines and court fees have been paid. Anyone operating a gun under a suspended or revoked license will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
- If the gun owner is found guilty of a crime deemed to disqualify them as eligible for gun licensing and ownership, the state has the right to revoke all licenses and demand the gun owner surrender their weapons to legal authorities.
- If
the gun owner is found to be psychologically unstable at any time, they become ineligible for gun licensing and ownership. Therefore, the state has the right to
revoke all licenses and demand the gun owner surrender their weapons to
legal authorities.
- In the future, guns will be equipped with embedded chips which allow them to be located and even automatically disarmed from a remote location, like a cellphone. Some guns will even be embedded with a camera which will take a time and date stamped picture of the shooter and immediately store it within the gun and transmit the information when activated or, remotely, if the gun is lost or stolen.
