DIFFERENT

HE'S REAL: ACKNOWLEDGING HIS PRESENCE

Hebrews 3:14-19

14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;

15 While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.

16 For some, when they had heard, did provoke: howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses.

17 But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness?

18 And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not?

19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

  OVER MY HEAD

Sung and Arranged by Mishael T
(aka Michelle T. Kenner)

Over my head, I see music
Over my head, I see music
Over my head, I see music
There must be a God somewhere

Over my head, I see color
Over my head, I see color
Over my head, I see color
There must be a God somewhere

Over my head, I see glory
Over my head, I see glory
Over my head, I see glory
There must be a God somewhere

Over my head, I hear music
Over my head, I hear music
Over my head, I hear music
There must be a God somewhere

 My Brothers and Sisters,

Too often we see people turning away or running away from serving God, because, it requires too much thought and too much of their time. They just want to live and enjoy life without having to think about all of that religious stuff. They want to be free to express their fleshly feelings and desires and behave as they see those behaving who are of the world. They may see life as already being complicated enough, without adding more things to think about and do.

However, life requires thought. Living requires thought. We choose what we want to think about and we choose how we want to live. No one lives life fully without some thought. What most people are really trying to escape is accountability for how they think and how they live. Most people will learn just what they want to know about God and His Son in order to remain at a religious, or practicing level. That way, they never come close to a relationship which requires responsibility. In order to do this, God must remain an elusive, intangible, and surreal figure-head. They don't want a god who is too real or demanding, so that they can continue to feel that their faith is adequate and their thinking and living is without fault.

Yes, they may hear sermons or read scripture, and attend worship services regularly, but, because their heart is still attached to the world, the words don't have real meaning to them. They don't consume them and digest them in order for them to become a part of their being. Instead, they believe they have been justified, just by reading them, and have become a better person for being in the midst of other Believers. Meanwhile, their thinking and living adheres to their own will and the ways of the world. In their mind, the world presents a less complicated way of living and thinking, and/or, they must live and think like the world to have access to the people and things of the world.

So, how can a Disciple expose someone to the real God? How can we help make God real for others? Is it possible to do so, or, must each person have their own personal experience to become awake and born again? Jesus told us to spread the Gospel Truth of the Kingdom, but, can we present it in a way that makes it REAL? Jesus gave us the way when He told us to tell them that the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand. Jesus and God are alive and real here and now, within us. Through Jesus, we enter the gates of the Kingdom to God; for we are justified by His blood; and through Him, our faith is perfected.

We must understand that Discipleship has been tainted, and in most places, replaced by religion. Believers have been presenting religion instead of presenting God. Believers have been confused by interpretations of the Word of God. However, there is no competition between religious ideologies. Confusion lies in a mind that is double-minded and not following The Mind of Christ. The Truth travels one way and should always lead to holiness and righteousness, and abundant and eternal life with our Father. We have all traveled down different paths to get to the right path. While we remained blind and of the world, chained to the bondage of religion, we did not know holiness and righteousness, neither did we know God; for God is Holy and Righteous.

A Disciple should be able to show God to someone of any religious background, without argument or competition. We are not asking people to abandon their faith in God, or, a higher power. We are trying to show them who He is--unattached to worldly things and doctrine. Those with true faith in God will see Him in us and hear his voice, but, to those attached to religious doctrine, instead of thirsting for holiness and righteousness, desiring a relationship with God, our words fall upon deaf ears.

Although, we have shown them God, they have rejected Him, not us. Yet, they will try to make it appear that they have rejected you. Your different behavior will be foreign and abnormal to them. Like Jesus, they won't understand your ministry or your ways. They will try to discredit your ministry and say that your ways are not of God.

Their misunderstanding comes in their not being able to understand Oneness with God. Therefore, although, they believe they are Believers, worshiping God, they are still functioning under the mind of the world and not The Mind of Christ. How could the Pharisee and Sadducee understand that Jesus was not alone, if they didn't truly know God? They thought He was functioning on His own and trying to make a name for Himself. They thought He was mad, egotistical, radical, blasphemous, and evil. Therefore, they considered Him a false prophet. In their minds, if Jesus was legitimate, God would have sent Him to work with them. After all, they were God's chosen people, descendants of Abraham. They had been entrusted with the Ark of the Covenant and God's Holy Commandments.

If God wanted to tell them something, He would speak to the priest and Jesus would be willing to work with them, not, against them. In their eyes, Jesus, was going about things all wrong. Therefore, He could not possibly be of God. God was right before their eyes, in the form of Jesus, but, still God was not real to them, because their hearts were hardened and their eyes were blinded by pride and the flesh. They made every possible effort to harden the hearts of others against Jesus and discredit His ministry.

We see the same thing today, as people who call themselves of the church, try to discredit those who have been awakened to take up Jesus' Commission to His Disciples and become willing vessels and servants of God. Yet, there are many who are of the church and not of God and they are ill-prepared to represent God as a Disciple equipped to minister to the people. So, as a Disciple, your behavior will be strange and/or repulsive to them, because, you do not adhere to the traditions, doctrines, and religions of man, collaborating with the usurpers of God's power and authority. You are an outsider, a freelancer, and a rebel, because you are not under their eye and scrutiny. Like the Pharisee and Sadducee, they want to know what you're doing and how dare you try to do it without them. Under whose authority are you doing this? You are not preforming like a valid member, so, then, you must not be working with or for the church.

Yet, how, contrary and ironic for these words and thoughts to come into their minds; for they have spoken their own sin. The Pharisee and Sadducee didn't really want to work with Jesus. No, Jesus was awakening the people to the Truth, The Way, and The Life. They were being exposed as frauds and their corruption and abuse of power were on display.  In their eyes, He was stealing their thunder, distracting their crowd, and perhaps even becoming a legend. However, these things were far from Jesus' mind. He was simply going about the business His Father had given Him to do.

He was leading God's Children back home and preparing them to be united with God. Unlike the Pharisee and Sadducee, He had no ulterior motives. He obeyed His Father and poured out the Word of God upon the people. His Words, God's Words, stirred up the hearts and gifts of the people in a way that the established, institutional religion of the Jews could not do. Would the Pharisee and Sadducee allow the people to be empowered in such a way that their power and authority over them and their own corrupted lives were lessened? Of course not. They were lovers of pride, the flesh, and the world.

As a Disciple, you will find that those still steeped in religion, lovers of the world and themselves, will continue to fight against you and try to discredit your ministry as a Disciple of Jesus, because they have separated ministry from Discipleship. Every Disciple (follower of Christ) has a ministry and should be equipped and empowered to pour their ministry upon others, using gifts and fruits of God's Holy Spirit. Those who have been blinded and sleep in ignorance, have no use for or understanding of Discipleship, or, worshiping in Spirit and in Truth. Worship and Truth are confined to the four walls of a building, and the Spirit is a performance, where they require an audience and control the show. They become melancholy and bewildered when the audience leaves for a new or different attraction. Yet, they have created an audience instead of helping the Spirit to create Disciples who are rooted, planted, empowered and living in the Word of God, following Him. Others may not want you to be empowered because it takes away their power over you, to use you, abuse you, or cast you down.

Until one truly becomes One with God and Christ, it is difficult to understand the concept of being One and not being alone or acting on ones own. Yet, the Disciples were sent out two by two and Paul and Silas were imprisoned, but, remained part of the Body of Christ. The adversary has succeeded in causing confusion in the minds of Believers and they separate Jesus' church from the Body of Christ, also believing one must have a preference and membership to denomination or religious sect. They cannot see that they are the ones who have separated from Christ's Body and function separately under another mind and not the Mind of Christ; for Christ is not divided and the members of His body cannot and do not function separately under their own mind. Neither do they seek to harm another member of the Body by thought, word, or deed.

You must not be discouraged or distracted by those who are against you and continually criticize you. Many are unknowing agents of darkness. Their belief in God is existential in accordance to their needs and His realness is malleable to their limited and bound thinking. We continue to pray for their weakness and bondage, that they may surrender all to be humbled, strengthened, awakened, enlightened, and filled with God's unconditional love.

To represent God to others, YOU must not only know what makes God and Jesus REAL to you, you must live it each day and each moment. Have you experienced their presence? Do they live within you? How does that feel? Do you know? What does His presence within you tell you to say to others  and do for others? How does He correct you and keep you from sin? How does He help you to love others? Can you truly represent God and His Son? In other words, are you FRUITFUL? Are you clothed in holiness and righteousness, wearing the Armour of God? Are you filled with His UNCONDITIONAL LOVE?

So often, we fall into the weakness of the flesh, hopelessness, or despair, because God and Jesus are not real enough to us. We lose sight of The Truth. This is a clear and definite sign that we are walking by sight and not by faith. We forget what God looks like, feels like, sounds like, and smells like. Yes, we can experience God with all of our senses as we hunger for His Holiness, it can revive us like the taste of pure, fresh water. We can feel His Holiness against our skin like a cool breeze or the sun warming our skin. We can hear the sound and Holiness of His voice, like the whistling wind; smell the sweet fragrance of His Love, just as we smell the flowers; and see His image in the faces of those who reach out unselfishly to help others in need.

Not what you expected me to say? Well, what do you expect? A more tangible God? Then, you must look within yourself; for if the Father and Son live within you, then, you will see them and feel them within yourself and others. You are the living proof that God is REAL! Others must see what is DIFFERENT and GODLY within you! You must show them God!

If God isn't REAL enough for you, then you are not CONNECTING with Him. Is your belief real? Your day or your life may seem to be difficult because you have not acknowledged God's presence within YOU. You may feel that you are too tired and you can't go on because you haven't asked His Holy Spirit to revive you and renew your strength.

Yes, God and Jesus are REAL and if you have experienced His POWER, than you know that He is The Way-maker, The Healer, The Comforter, and The Only Truth, Way, and Life. He can be your ALL-IN-ALL if you know that He is REAL and acknowledge His presence in everything you do, say, think, and feel.

In whatever you are going through, or, within all that you do today and everyday, KNOW THAT HE IS REAL and let your Light SHINE! Use your gifts in the way that God has instructed you to use them; for they belong to Him. They exist because of Him. Others need your gifts and they need you. You must be fruitful in all things.

May these songs lead you to look at this day and everyday in a new light, His Light.  "This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it." Psalm 118:24 King James Version (KJV)

your servant and soldier, united with the One, Giving all Glory to God!

REAL, REAL, JESUS IS REAL TO ME

Sung and Arranged by Mishael T
(aka Michelle T. Kenner)

In the morning He's
Real, real, Jesus is real to me
Oh, yes, He gives me victory
So many people doubt Him
I can't live without Him
That is why I love Him so
He's so real to me

I woke soon one morning
Pillow wet with tears
Called on Christ my Savior
I knew that He would hear
Prayer is my connection
Call Him on the phone
God is my Father
and I'm trying to make Heaven my Home

In the evening He's
Real, real, Jesus is real to me
Oh, yes, He gives me victory
So many people doubt Him
I can't live without Him
That is why I love Him so
He's so real to me

Hebrews 3 King James Version (KJV)

1 Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;

2 Who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also Moses was faithful in all his house.

3 For this man was counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as he who hath builded the house hath more honour than the house.

4 For every house is builded by some man; but he that built all things is God.

5 And Moses verily was faithful in all his house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after;

6 But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.

7 Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice,

8 Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness:

9 When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years.

10 Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways.

11 So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.)

12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.

13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;
